Please Make Sure When Buying These Bulbs That You Don’t Buy Too Small A Bulb Or They Won’t Flower, They Will Only Throw Green Leaves And Take 2-3 Years To Flower. Under A Size 10 Will Only Throw 30% Flowerage At Best. These Bulbs Are A Good Flowering Size
“Mount Hood” Is By Definition A Trumpet Daffodil Which Means It Features A Trumpet (Corona) That Is Equal Or Greater Then The Length Of The Petals (Perianth Segments) One Flower Per Stem. “Mount Hood” Rises About 35-40 Cms Tall In Spring. Each Flower Features Ivory-White Petals And An Ivory Trumpet. Flowers Emerge Creamy Yellow But Rapidly Mature To Ivory White. Flowers Bloom In Mid-Season. Narrow Strap-Shaped Green Leaves In Clumps. This Daffodil Was Bred In Holland In The 1930’s.
“Mount Hood” Has Received The Royal Horticultural Society’s Award Of Garden Merit (Agm) Which Is For Plants Of Outstanding Excellence.
Like All Daffodils “Mount Hood” Is A Superb Cutflower, In The Landscape, It Pairs Well With Species Tulips, Scillas, Muscari And Early Blooming Perennials And Shrubs. It Is Also Wonderful For Planting In Showy Masses.
These Are Some Of The Easiest Bulbs To Grow. They Prefer Full To Part Sun And Require Average Fertile Soil. After Blooming, It Is Good To Let Their Green Tops Photosynthesize To Allow Them To Store Plenty Of Fuel For Next Spring’s Display. Once Their Leaves Start To Turn Yellow, They Can Be Cut To The Ground. Divide Them In Summer If Bloom Or Vigour Dwindles. The Plants Are Deer, Rabbit And Squirrel Resistant.
