Under A Size 10 Will Only Throw 30% Flowerage At Best. These Bulbs Are A Good Flowering Size And Consist Of Our Very Best Varieties And Come From Lincolnshire Where Most Of The English Daffodil Bulbs Are Grown
Large Yellow Daffodils Are The Kind Everyone Expects To See Dancing In The Spring Breeze And This Is One Of The Largest And Finest. Big, Bright And Bold, The Cultivar “King Alfred” Is The Epitome Of “Daffodil”. “King Alfred” Has Ornamented Gardens With Its Large Sunney Flowers For More Than 100 Years. The Brilliant Yellow Blooms Have Six Narrowly Oval Twisted Petals And A Long Tubular Central Corona Which Flares At Its Flanged And Notched Mouth. The Solitary Flowers Lean Forward From Medium-Tall Stems.
Like All Daffodils “King Alfred” Is A Superb Cutflower, In The Landscape, It Pairs Well With Species Tulips, Scillas, Muscari And Early Blooming Perennials And Shrubs. It Is Also Wonderful For Planting In Showy Masses.
These Are Some Of The Easiest Bulbs To Grow. They Prefer Full To Part Sun And Require Average Fertile Soil. After Blooming, It Is Good To Let Their Green Tops Photosynthesize To Allow Them To Store Plenty Of Fuel For Next Spring’s Display.
