“White Lion” Is A Delightful Bi-Colour Double Daffodil Which Has Striking White And Yellow Flowers Which Appear In Late Spring. Blooms Appear On Leafless Stems. Basal Leaves Are Green And Usually Strap-Shaped. A Double Dafodil Means That Extra Petals Are Present “White Lion” Has Double Petals (I.E. Perianth Segmemts) As A Result They Resemble A Gardenia. Needless To Say They Look Very Impressive, Markedly Fragrant And Add A Touch Of Luxury To Spring Borders.

“White Lion” Has Received The Royal Horticultural Society’s Award Of Garden Merit (Agm) Which Is For Plants Of Outstanding Excellence

Like All Daffodils “White Lion” Is A Superb Cutflower. In The Landscape, It Pairs Well With Species Tulips, Scillas, Grape Hyacinths And Perennials And Shrubs. This Relatively Inexpensive Cultivar Is Wonderful For Planting In Masses. It Is Also Good For Winter Forcing And Looks Good In Containers And Pots Or On A Windowsill Indoors. They Are Deer, Rodent And Squirrel Resistant.

These Are Some Of The Easiest Bulbs To Grow. They Prefer Full To Part Sun And Require Average Fertile Soil. After Blooming, It Is Good To Let Their Green Tops Photosynthesize To Allow Them To Store Plenty Of Fuel For Next Spring’s Display. Once Their Leaves Start To Turn Yellow, They Can Be Cut To The Ground. Divide Them In Summer If Bloom Or Vigour Dwindles.
