“Ascot” Is A Daffodil Bearing Double Blooms. Perianth And Other Petaloid Segments, Light Greenish-Yellow: Corona Segments Are Yellow-Orange With Pinkish-Orange At The Rim. Blooms Appear On Leafless Stems. Basal Leaves Are Green And Usually Strap-Shaped. A Double Dafodil Means That Extra Petals Are Present “Ascot” Has Double Petals (I.E. Perianth Segmemts) As A Result They Resemble A Gardenia. Needless To Say They Look Very Impressive And Are Very Rare.
Like All Daffodils “Ascot” Is A Superb And Long-Lasting Cut Flower Needless To Say They Look Very Impressive. They Are Excellent For Bed And Borders And Also For Cut Flower Arrangements. They Look Good In Containers And Pots. It Is Also Excellent In Masses. In The Landscape, It Pairs Well With Tulips, Bluebells, Alliums And Spring Flowering Perennials And Shrubs.
These Are Some Of The Easiest Bulbs To Grow. They Prefer Full To Part Sun And Require Average Fertile Soil. After Blooming, It Is Good To Let Their Green Tops Photosynthesize To Allow Them To Store Plenty Of Fuel For Next Spring’s Display. Once Their Leaves Start To Turn Yellow, They Can Be Cut To The Ground. Divide Them In Summer If Bloom Or Vigour Dwindles.
