From A Distance, Blooming “Blushing Apeldoorn” Tulips Look Orange, But With Close Inspection, Their Golden Colour With Blushes Of Red Become Apparent. A Darwin Hybrid Tulip, It’s Known For Its Tall, Sturdy Stems And Usually Not Used For Forcing In Containers.Perched Atop Extremely Tall Stems Above Broadly Lance-Shaped Leaves, The Elegant Blooms Have Six Pointed “Petals” (More Accurately Tepals). Each Tepal Is Golden Yellow With Varying Red Blush, Most Concentrated At Tepal Bases Or In A Thin Line On Upper Edges.
Darwin Tulips Are Known To Be The Most Weather Resistant Of All The Garden Tulips. They Are Also Among The Largest Blooming And Most Highly Valued Tulips Available Today.
