These Are Tropical Plants, But They Love The Outdoors In Summer And Make Amazing Patio Plants With Exotic Foliage And Even More Exotic Flowers.
This Plant Is Long Lasting Repeat Blooming, Sun-Loving And Very Productive When Established. It Will Bloom All Summer. The Rich Green Foliage Is Sometimes Pleated And Attactive In And Of Itself.

Care Of Rhysomes
Rhysomes Are Thickened Underground Stems. They Grow In A Horizontal Direction, Sprouting New Sections As They Go.
They Like Full Sun To Part Shade, In Moist Well-Drained Soil.
Plant The Rhysomes (What The Bulbs Are Called) Into Pots Using A Good Soil Based Compost. Rhysomes Should Be Planted Horizontally Just Below The Surface Of The Soil With The Small Reddish Coloured Buds Facing Upwards. Water Well And Then Grow On Under Glass Until All Risk Of Frost Has Gone, Or Store Them In A Cool Frost-Free Place I.E. Shed Or Garage Until They Can Be Planted Straight Out Into The Garden. Keep Well Watered During The Summer, But Dry In The Winter. They Should Be Covered In The Winter With A Deep Dry Mulch, Or Brought Inside And Kept In A Frost-Free Spot Until The Spring When They Can Be Planted Outside Again.
