Who Doesn’t Love This Colourful Easy To Grow Garden Perennial!! “Purple Coneflower” Is A Hardy Herbaceous Wildflower Native To Eastern United States. In Summer, It Bears Tall, Sturdy Stms Topped With A Single Large, Light Purple/Pink Daisies With Prominent Conical Centers Of Orange/Bronze. Bloom Time May Be Extended If Spent Flowers Are Removed, Or Deadheaded. This Dependable Garden Staple Self-Sows But Not Too Aggressively. The Seedlings Can Be Highly Variable And Most Do Not Grow True To Seed.
“Purple Coneflower” Like Well-Drained Humus Rich Soil.They Do Best In Full Sun But Will Take Some Shade And Are Tolerant Of Hot, Dry, Windy Sites. They Are Best If Used In Borders, Meadows, Butterfly Gardens, Small Gardens, Containers And Perennial Gardens. The Blooms Make Great Cutflowers. In Addition They Attract Butterflies And The Dry Seed-Filled Cones Draw Seed Eating Birds. Even Better “Purple Coneflower” Is Quite Disease Resistant And Deer Do Not Like It.
