Eucomis

Eucomis are summer-blooming bulbs with exotic white, pink or maroon flowers that resemble pineapples. These unusual blooms have earned eucomis its common name "pineapple lily". The plants are native to southern Africa and are actually related to hyacinths. Their long, strappy leaves may be green or burgundy, and the stems are sometimes freckled with contrasting colors. Eucomis are easy to grow and their long-lasting flowers and attractive foliage are always an exciting addition to flowerbeds, borders and containers.
