GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Large, Lipstick-Red Camellia-Like Blossoms On An Upright, Bushy Plant With Green Foliage Describes The Tuberous Double Red Begonia. This Compact Plant Belongs To The Tuberhybrida Group. It Grows From Winter-Dormant Root Tubers And Has Extravagant Red Flowers That Are Double (Extra Petal Rows).

They Are Produced In Early Summer To The First Frost. And Are Set Among Open, Succulent Stems Across The Plant. They Are Produced In A Cluster Of Three Buds, With Two Smaller Female Flowers Next To The Larger, Usually Double And Showier Male Flower. Leaves Are Fleshy, Jagged And Pointed, Glossy And Dark Green, Sometimes With Bronze Tones And Undersides.

“Double Red Begonia” Need A Rich, But Well-Drained Soil In A Partially Shaded Garden Location. It Should Only Receive Direct Sunlight Early In The Morning
