GENERAL DESCRIPTION

A Colourful Assortment Of Mixed Blossoms On A Trailing, Bushy Plant With Green Foliage Describes The Tuberous Mixed Trailing Begonia. This Compact Plant Belongs To The Tuberhybrida Group. It Grows From Winter-Dormant Root Tubers And Has Extravagant Mixed Flowers That Trail

They Are Produced In Early Summer To The First Frost. And Are Set Among Open, Succulent Stems Across The Plant. They Are Produced In A Cluster Of Three Buds, With Two Smaller Female Flowers Next To The Larger, Usually Double And Showier Male Flower. Leaves Are Fleshy, Jagged And Pointed, Glossy And Dark Green, Sometimes With Bronze Tones And Undersides.

“Trailing Begonias” Need A Rich, But Well-Drained Soil In A Partially Shaded Garden Location. It Should Only Receive Direct Sunlight Early In The Morning

Plant February-May 5 Cm Deep And 25 Cm Apart When The Frost Has Gone. They Can Be Started Indoors By Sprouting Them Off In A Seed Tray Or Damp Box 5 Cm Apart And Bury Them Hollow Side Up Just Covered With A Surface Layer Of Peat Or Compost. Once Planted Out Water And Feed Regularly. It Pays To Remove Dead Flowers As Well As Pinching Out Any Long Stems During Early Growth To Encourage Stronger Healthier Plants.

“Trailing Begonias” Offer An Explosion Of Colour For Hanging Baskets, Window Boxes, Pots And Tubs As Well As In The Garden. These Eye-Catching Double Begonias Produce Large Long-Lasting Blooms.

The Tubers Can Be Overwintered. Lift In The Autumn, Before The First Frost And Store The Tubers In A Dry Position Preferably In Dry Sand In A Frost-Free Place For The Winter Season To Grow Again Next Year.
