Also Known As The Nodding Star Of Bethlehem, This Ornithogalum Is A Robust, Hardy Perennial Which Is Perfect For Planting In Mixed Borders, Pots And Containers, But Works Equally As Effectively At The Back Of The Border, Where They Will Naturalise Year After Year. Low Maintenance And Easy To Grow.
“Ornithogalum Nutans” Has Received The Royal Horticultural Society’s Award Of Garden Merit (Agm) Which Is For Plants Of Outstanding Excellence.
Ornithogalum Nutans Produces Star-Shaped Flowers In A Pretty Soft Silvery Grey-Green Colour. They Are Bluebell-Like In Stature When Picked. The Foliage Yellows At Flowering Time, While The Flowers Are Sweetly Scented. Ornithogalums Are One Of The Longest Lasting Cut Flowers Available. Originating From South Africa.
It Is A Fast Spreader But Does Not Compete With Other Garden Plants, So Is Not Considered Invasive. A Small Planting Can Quickly Double In Size Within A Few Years. Bring These Exotic Flower Spikes To Your Late Spring And Early Summer Displays.
