GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Please Make Sure When Buying These Bulbs That You Don’t Buy Too Small A Bulb Or They Won’t Flower, They Will Only Throw Green Leaves For A Couple Of Years. These Bulbs Are A Good Flowering Size Bulb. Large Bulbs Better Flowers.
Introduced To Europe From Turkey In The Late Sixteenth Century And Still Popular As A Garden And Florists Plant And Producing Showy, Red, Pink, Purple, Yellow, Orange Or White Blooms On Compact Stems In Late Spring Or Summer. They Bear Ruffled Pompom-Like Double Flowers. The Leaves Which Typically Emerge Early In The Season, Are Deeply Lobed, Bluish-Green And Are 20-25 Cm. Dollops Of Colour Up To 6cm In Diameter Top The Upright Stems. Plants Go Dormant After Bloom. This Plant Is Excellent For Borders And Containers. It Is Very Good For Cutting As Long-Lasting In Water.
“Ranunculus” Can Be Planted In The Spring For Summer Flowering & Autumn For Spring Flowering. These Can Be Difficult To Start Growing And Become Established So Please Be Patient
These Sun Loving Perennials Require Dry Summers And Relatively Moist Winters. In Regions With Damp Summers Give Them A Well-Drained Or Sloping Site They Also Do Well And Look Smart In Pots
Plant The Talon-Like Corms In Autumn Or Spring 8cm Deep And A Similar Distance Apart With Their ‘Fingers’ Facing Downward. Soak The Corms For At Least 2 Hours Or Overnight Before Planting.
