GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Rhubarb Timperley Is One Of The Easiest Rhubarb To Grow, Also One Of The Earliest And It Will Produce A Good Crop Of Red-Based Pink Stems Are Not Very Stringy And Have A Delicious Flavour. This One Should Not Be Moved For A Few Years. The Vigorous Growth Produces Flushes Of Succulent Vivid Red Stems Which Are Excellent For Delicious Pies And Crumbles. A True Perennial Rhubarb Plants Can Yield Good Harvests For Years.

Rhubarb Is A Big Leafy Plant, Growing 2-3 Feet Wide And Tall. It Is Grown For Its Leaf Stalks, But Makes A Beautiful, Ornamental Plant.
Plant The Crowns 2 Inches Below The Surface Of The Soil 3-4 Ft Apart. If Planted Too Closely The Plants Will Grow Smaller And Less Productive. Firm The Soil Gently And Water Well. Rhubarb Likes Regular Water, But Mature Plants Are Quite Drought Resistant. It Is Best To Allow New Plants To Become Established For A Year Before Harvesting Your First Crop. A Layer Of Mulch Over The Bed, Once The Ground Freezes Will Protect The Roots From Drying Out. Otherwise The Plants Will Be Fine.
